Quick start

EventWatch watches things for you around the clock and pings you the moment something happens. Four steps to get going:

  1. Register and verify your email โ€” sign up, then click the verification link we send you.
  2. Add a monitor โ€” open Dashboard โ†’ Add monitor, pick a type (website, stock, cryptoโ€ฆ), fill in the fields, choose a check interval and the notification channels, then save.
  3. Set up notifications โ€” in Settings connect Telegram (your own bot), email, SMS / voice / WhatsApp numbers, and use the test buttons to confirm they work.
  4. Relax โ€” checks are free. Credits are only spent when an alert is actually sent (see Credits).

๐ŸŒ Website updates

Watch any web page for changes โ€” prices, news lists, announcements, anything.

  • URL โ€” must start with http:// or https://.
  • Smart detection โ€” if the page has an RSS/Atom feed it is used automatically and every new entry triggers an alert. If you paste a JSON API endpoint (handy for JavaScript-rendered sites whose HTML is empty), items are tracked by their ID โ€” e.g. https://example.com/api/feed.
  • CSS selector โ€” watch only part of a page instead of the whole thing, e.g. .price or #news-list. Use the Preview button to see exactly what the selector captures. Leave it empty to watch the whole page.
  • Noise reduction โ€” timestamps and "x minutes ago" style text are ignored automatically, so they don't cause false alarms.
  • Change details โ€” alerts include a diff of added / removed lines.

Tip: on pages that change constantly (ads, clocks), a selector pointed at the content you care about works far better than whole-page watching.

๐Ÿ“ˆ Stock price

Get alerted when a stock crosses a price or moves sharply.

  • Symbol โ€” Yahoo Finance codes: AAPL, TSLA, NVDA. Chinese A-shares need a suffix: 600519.SS (Shanghai), 000001.SZ (Shenzhen); Hong Kong: 0700.HK.
  • Live quote โ€” the current price appears as you type and becomes the baseline for percentage alerts.
  • Conditions โ€” set at least one:
    • Above โ€” alert when the price breaks above this value;
    • Below โ€” alert when it falls below this value;
    • Rise % โ€” alert when it jumps this much between two checks;
    • Fall % โ€” alert when it drops this much between two checks.
  • Interval โ€” how often to check (1โ€“60 minutes).

๐Ÿฆ X (Twitter)

Get every new post from an X account pushed to you.

  • Handle โ€” just the username, e.g. elonmusk (the @ is optional).
  • Runs on the official X API โ€” no burner account needed, no ban risk. Only genuinely new posts trigger alerts (replies are excluded).
  • Note: the X API is pay-per-use; the site administrator must configure and top up the API key before this monitor type works.

๐Ÿช™ Crypto

Same alert logic as stocks, but for cryptocurrencies.

  • Coin โ€” codes, full names, any case are recognized: BTC, eth, Bitcoin, Ethereum all resolve automatically (e.g. ETH โ†’ ETH-USD). If something isn't recognized, use the code with -USD directly, e.g. SOL-USD.
  • Conditions โ€” the same four as stocks: above / below / rise % / fall % (percentages are measured between two checks).

Commodities, precious metals, forex, indices and ETFs.

  • What to type โ€” Chinese names, English names or Yahoo codes all work: gold / ้ป„้‡‘ (GC=F), EURUSD / ๆฌงๅ…ƒๅ…‘็พŽๅ…ƒ (EURUSD=X), S&P500 / ๆ ‡ๆ™ฎ500 (^GSPC), vix / ๆๆ…ŒๆŒ‡ๆ•ฐ (^VIX), SPY, QQQโ€ฆ
  • Alerts show the name you typed, e.g. "gold ็ช็ ด USD 4,157.30".
  • Conditions โ€” the same four as stocks: above / below / rise % / fall %.

๐Ÿ”” Notification channels

Five channels, each configured per user in Settings:

  • Telegram โ€” create your own bot via @BotFather and paste the token plus your chat ID. Everyone uses their own bot, so configs never clash.
  • Email โ€” sent to your registration email by default; you can add more addresses, comma-separated.
  • SMS / voice calls โ€” via Twilio; enter your phone number with country code. Voice calls read the alert aloud in your language.
  • WhatsApp โ€” via Twilio WhatsApp; join the sandbox first if prompted.
  • Per-monitor choice โ€” the add-monitor form lets you pick which channels each monitor may use. A channel only fires if it is selected on the monitor and configured in Settings.
  • Test buttons โ€” every channel has one in Settings. Use them.
  • Failed sends are refunded โ€” if a notification fails to deliver, the credits come back automatically.
  • Note: SMS / voice / WhatsApp need a paid recharge first โ€” trial credits can't be used for them.

๐Ÿ’ณ Credits

  • Checks are free โ€” scheduled checks and manual "check now" never cost anything.
  • Alerts cost 5 credits โ€” credits are spent only when an alert is actually generated and dispatched.
  • Extra channel costs โ€” on top of the alert: SMS 10 credits/message, voice calls 25 credits/call, WhatsApp 5 credits/message. Telegram and email have no extra cost.
  • Top up โ€” buy packages under Billing (Stripe) or redeem a code. New accounts get 1,000 trial credits.
  • Referrals โ€” share your link; you and your friend each get 500 credits.
  • Out of credits โ€” events are still logged, but notifications are skipped until you top up.

โ“ FAQ

  • Why didn't I get an alert? โ€” check: is the monitor enabled? Is the channel selected on the monitor and configured in Settings? Enough credits? Any events on the monitor's detail page?
  • Symbol not recognized? โ€” type the Yahoo code directly (AAPL, 600519.SS, BTC-USD).
  • Website monitor never fires? โ€” the page may be JavaScript-rendered: try its JSON API endpoint, or set a CSS selector on the region you care about and confirm with Preview.
  • X monitor says "not configured"? โ€” the administrator hasn't set up the X API key yet.
  • SMS never arrives? โ€” make sure the number includes the country code and try the test button; some carriers filter international SMS.
  • Can I edit a monitor? โ€” monitors can't be edited after creation (except enable/disable and reorder) โ€” delete and re-create one.
